Long days and warm sun are things to think about but there’s also something else to look forward to, the Western Group of Motoring Writers’ Driving Day 2018.
Yes, six months from today on 6 June we’ll be hosting DD2018, the must-attend motoring PR event, at Castle Combe Circuit, near Chippenham.
The Western Group driving day has been running over three decades and has raised thousands of pounds for charities both national and local. It’s also a very good day to network, meet old and new acquaintances, put faces to those voices and emails and experience the latest cars on the market.
We’re already working hard on DD2018 and at this stage would like you to mark it in your calendars – 6 June 2018, blank off that date for yourselves and a few cars, and put in that budget request to attend what many consider the best day of the year.
Over the years we have asked manufacturers to rotate their signature sponsorship of the driving day so everyone gets a fair return on attending. In the past we’ve been well supported in this respect and hope this generous level of support can continue for 2018. We’ll also be expanding on the associated benefits in due course.
Also this year, Western Group has decided to open up the invitation list to PR Agencies and company marketing departments so they can gain experience of the models they are promoting or competing against.
Our popular dedicated website will be up and running very soon and we’ll let you know when you can start booking places for cars and people.
WGMW chairman Iain Dooley said, ”Always a popular and well-attended event in the industry calendar, the Western Group’s annual driving day offers industry professionals a multitude of ways to both enjoy and maximize the day.
“From a simple catch-up to networking opportunities whilst sampling the latest cars on quiet West Country roads or even on the famous Castle Combe circuit, it’s not just a good day out but it’s also for a number of good causes thanks to the Group’s various fundraising activities.
“However it’s your generous support that really makes the day special, and I’d encourage you to keep your eyes pealed for event updates in the coming weeks and months so as not to miss out.”
