The Oscars of automotive journalism and PR are back.
Entries have opened for the 2017 Newspress Awards, which will once again honour the best in automotive journalism and PR after being declared an unprecedented success in its inaugural year.
Returning to The Brewery in Clerkenwell, London, the awards ceremony will take place on Thursday 23 March, with a number of new honours in addition to those awarded in 2016 and it will once again be fronted by The National Lottery’s Voice of the Balls Alan Dedicoat, and will feature a top secret celebrity star guest.
To take part in the awards, journalists, photographers and videographers can put forward their own work in a number of specific categories via the Newspress Awards website, at www.newspress.co.uk/awards. Entries will be accepted until 11.59pm on 19 February.
Four new categories have been introduced: Road Tester, Motorcycle Writer, Technology Writer and Automotive Columnist. Journalists and photographers do not need to be nominated, they can simply enter themselves. Entrants can submit work into whatever category they wish, but with only one entry per category.
The PR awards, for Press Office, PR and Rising PR Star, are on a vote-only basis, with votes cast by Newspress-registered journalists only. In these three categories the individuals with the most votes will win.
