Looking for something ?

Looking forward to the PR Day, then we'll have you going backwards

Looks easy but are you up to the challenge?By Liz Turner

How many PRs does it take to reverse a trailer into a tight spot?

At the Western Group of Motoring Writers’ annual Driving Day, 2 June at Castle Combe circuit, PRs and journalists will be challenged to beat the VW Passat’s Trailer Assist system and each other.

We’ll time a tight parking manoeuvre with and without the system, and see who is king or queen of the over-the-shoulder shuffle.

As always, we’ll have a great range of vehicles for PRs and WGMW members to try, on the road and the track, some more fun challenges for charity, good food and opportunities to catch up with your colleagues.

WGMW chairman John Kendall said, “The Western Group Driving Day is firmly established as the best event every year for motoring PRs and we really enjoy putting it on.

“Each year we come up with something different and, we hope, informative and challenging and the event on 2 June will continue in that style so we are grateful to Volkswagen for providing this demonstration of their latest technology.

“We are also planning a few other surprises for those who love driving and will be explaining more in a few weeks.”

Put it in your diary now and if you are managing your company’s press fleet, please consider what cars you’ll be sending and blank off your diaries as necessary.
