The WGMW driving day is open for business.

This year, the legendary and globally unique event at Castle Combe circuit is on Wednesday 25 June and it follows the usual format but, hopefully, with some ground-breaking technology being introduced, more of which in a few weeks.

It is the 26th time of running this never-to-be-missed opportunity for PRs to pretend to be muttering rotters and actually drive cars to gain comparisons and knowledge. Oh, and to network and enjoy the unique atmosphere which is thewesterngroup day and you can see highlights from the 2013 here

Once again, a special microsite for the event has been created by Alyson Marlow of Leepeck Group and we urge you to check it out and register your interest and vehicles as soon as possible.

Full details of this year’s event will be rolled out over the coming months so keep a look out for developments being posted on  thewesterngroup website

We are holding prices at £100 per person and you can quickly and easily book people and cars on this site – and amend details with similar ease.

So cancel the press launches that week, bring some of those enticing cars you’ve shown us at Frankfurt and Geneva, pack the Factor 30, reach for your shades and head West.

The Western Group’s finest will be ready and waiting at 8.00am at the Tavern. Amanda and her team will have the bacon sizzling and we’ll have you signed up while the last of the cars are arriving.

As usual, the track will be open for use with selected cars, while the roads around Castle Combe offer plenty of variety from country lane to motorway. Castle Combe’s racing instructors will be on hand as usual so whether you’re a track novice or an old hand, they will be ready and waiting to ease you round Quarry, show you the way through The Esses, tell you why Bobbies is called Bobbies and what to watch for at Camp Corner.

Off track we’re hoping that we can persuade Nick to pack another box of bits from Baldwin’s Barn to test your historical automotive knowledge. Can Henson and Smale find yet more images from the Virtualmotorpix archive for another “Spot the car” competition? All proceeds from this brain torturing will go towards our charity donation and of course, there will be prizes for the winners.

There’s never a shortage of automotive anniversaries and 2014 is no different. We’re celebrating 100 glorious years of Maserati and 40 years of Mitsubishi in the UK. So there are two excuses to dust off your classic car collections. Kim Henson is co-ordinating our Classics at Castle Combe section, so if you would like to bring one of yours along for driving or static display, ki*****@ma****.net/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Kim is keen to hear from you.

If you have any queries contact al****@le**********.com/” target=”_blank”>Alyson . We look forward to seeing you in June for what promises to be a great day out for everyone. Remember its 25 June 2014.
