Mitsubishi Motors has handed over two 4x4s to volunteers in Somerset to help with the flood relief effort.

Somerset County Council needed more vehicle support and approached Mitsubishi’s UK headquarters in Cirencester, who were happy to provide two L200 pick-ups for as long as needed.

The County Council will pay for insurance to enable volunteers from the Flooding on the Levels Action Group (FLAG) to continue their good work.

The vehicles will be used by volunteer co-ordinators Tim Holmes and Stuart Smith, who have been working in Burrowbridge and Moorland since the flooding began.

Dan Pigot, Corporate Sales Manager at Mitsubishi Motors in the UK, who arranged for the vehicles to be donated, said, “We have all seen what the people in this area are going through so we were more than happy to help in this way. The Mitsubishi L200s are the perfect vehicles to allow the excellent volunteers to continue doing their vital work in helping the people affected by the floods.”
