Newspress will hold its first awards ceremony on 16 March, celebrating the achievements of the automotive industry’s star journalists, media and PR operators.
It replaces the former Headline Auto awards after Newspress acquired the rival business this summer.
With categories rewarding the best writing, editing, content and communications across the automotive industry, the Newspress Awards will recognise the individuals, teams and publications that have really excelled.
An independent panel, made up of senior automotive and publishing industry figures, will come together to judge the awards, with entries encouraged from 1 December.
Open to all, the editorial side of the awards aims to find the cream of the UK’s motoring media from 2015.
In addition, the awards will also recognise the star performers in the world of automotive public relations, with categories for PR Person of the Year and PR Rising Star of the Year, nominated and voted for by the users of Newspress.
Newspress Managing Director, Tim Barfoot, said, “We’re delighted to announce the first ever Newspress Awards, which we hope will become one of the key events in the calendar for automotive media and PR teams alike.
“While each year is packed with a myriad of different events, there are no others that specifically celebrate individuals and teams within our specialist sector.
“Newspress was founded in 1973 by a former national motoring magazine editor purely to serve the interests of motor manufacturers and associated journalists and help further the interests of both.”
“We therefore wish to ensure there is a platform for the best among us to continue to be celebrated and rewarded, as well as create an unmissable event that will bring the very best people in automotive media and PR together.”
