The Western Group of Motoring Writers has donated £500 to Mitsubishi’s chosen charity, the National Star College.
Vice chairman of the group, Robin Roberts, presented the early Christmas present to the charity at the college in Ullenwood, near Cheltenham.
At the same time Vanessa Nalder from Mitsubishi Motors UK handed over a new Outlander PHEV, to replace an L200 pick-up which the charity used previously.
The National Star College works to enable people with disabilities to realise their potential through personalised learning, transition and lifestyle services.
The Western Group of Motoring Writers chose to donate the £500 after learning about the charity from members of staff at Mitsubishi, who regularly sponsor the group’s AGM.
Robin Roberts, from the Western Group of Motoring Writers, said, “It’s great to be able to support the work of the National Star College, a cause which is in the heart of our area. We hope this donation will go some way to helping the youngsters who attend this fantastic college.”
The National Star College in Ullenwood, Cheltenham, has been the chosen charity of Mitsubishi Motors in the UK since 2009.
David Ellis, from the National Star College (above standing with our vice-chairman and Vanessa), said, “Donations like this are incredibly important to us and we’d like to thank the Western Group of Motoring Writers.
“This money will help us make a difference to the lives of young people with disabilities. The support that we have had from Mitsubishi has been hugely beneficial, both in terms of fundraising and in terms of borrowing vehicles.”
Vanessa Nalder, from Mitsubishi Motors in the UK, said, “We have been supporting the National Star College for five years now and we have a really good relationship with them. It’s a fascinating place to visit where they do such good work.”
